Gunmen Fall Three Mopol Officers, Cart Away Rifles

Three Mobile Police officers on special duty have been shot dead by suspected gunmen on Sunday night.
The daredevil gang reportedly carted away the slain officers’ service rifles in Ughelli North local government area of Delta State.
Although details of the story was yet sketchy as at the time of this report, Mainstreamreports gathered the three Mobile police officers were simply identified, as Insp. Simon Madaki, Insp. Mutari Lawal and Sgt. Adamu Ibrahim.
According to police sources, they were transferred from Mopol 47, Zaria in Kaduna nearly a year ago .
Further security reports said the trio were lodged in an undisclosed hotel in Ughelli, when the incident happened.
“They were visiting Mobile Officers from ‘Mopol 47, Zaria’ in Kaduna state and they have been in the hotel on a ‘Special Duty’ for nearly a year now.
The hotel, name withheld was formerly a fast food joint which was converted to a Club House and later a hotel.
Another security source who spoke covertly disclosed that they were four mobile policemen guarding the hotel, while the three of them were outside.
According to him, the only survivor in the attack was indoor.
All efforts to speak with the CEO of the hotel for comments was not successful.
