APC Aniocha South LGA, Wards Caretaker Committees Inaugurated
A 24-member Caretaker Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Aniocha South LGA were inaugurated Saturday. Also inaugurated along with the LGA officers were the 11 Wards chairmen, who took Oath of Office and Allegiance to the party, administered by a legal practitioner, Barr. Greg Ogidi in Ogwashi-Uku. However, the former LGA chairman, Mr John Ekwuyasi, who was suspended for anti-party activities and the former LGA Assistant Women Leader, Mrs. Patricia Osaji were dropped. Addressing the LGA and Wards Caretaker Officers, the Chairman, APC Delta North Senatorial Caretaker Committee, Chief George Okafor said the task before the Committees is to return to the grassroots and mobilise for the membership revalidation exercise, which commences January 25. According to the APC leader, the political harvest is ripe for APC to reap fallouts from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), considering the ruling party’s innumerable acts of impunity and maladministration, especially on the backdrop of the scheduled March 6 Council election. Chief Okafor charged the new LGA Caretaker Committee Chairman, Mr Fidelis Nwadugbo to ensure that he liaises with leaders of the party at the Wards and LGA to make his task easy. He informed the gathering of Aniocha South APC leaders and stakeholders that peace and harmony will be restored to the party in the LGA with regards to the authentic Chairmanship and Councillorship candidates of the party for the forthcoming Council election, adding that the national leadership of the party is already addressing the conflicting issues. Responding on behalf of the inaugurated LGA Caretaker Committee members, the Chairman, Mr Fidelis Nwadugbo assured the party of their unflinching loyalty and commitment to the tasks ahead of them.
