Delta Assembly Majority Leader Dies of Rumoured COVID-19 Complications
Majority leader of the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Tim Owhefere, is dead.
Sources in the State House of Assembly confirmed the passage of the legislator to our reporter on Thursday.
Our reporter gathered that the death of Hon Owhefere, suspected to be connected to COVID-19, has thrown members and staff of the Delta Assembly into apprehension.
Hon. Owhefere was said to have been hospitalised for about two weeks before his passage at about 11pm on Wednesday.
Sources said he had been on oxygen for a week before his death fueling speculations that he died of COVID-19.
Besides, the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, had recently recovered from the dreaded COVID-19
Owhefere, a fourth time member of the Delta Assembly, representing Isoko North Constituency, passed on Wednesday at the Federal Medical Centre, Asaba, where he had been undergoing treatment reports say.
Mainstreamreports gathered the family and the Delta Assembly will officially announce the sad development on Thursday.
If speculations are true, Owhefere will become the first major politician in Delta, to have died of coronavirus.
Meanwhile, news of his death has thrown the Isoko nation into mourning.
